Beaches:
Puerto Rico is world famous the beaches that
line this beautiful island. No matter which coast you may
be on, rest assured that a fantastic beach is only a short
distance away. Some may be better for surfing, while others
are better for just relaxing or swimming. If you like beaches,
there are few better places to go anywhere in the Caribbean.
Surfing:
If you enjoy surfing, then you should definitely
considered checking out Puerto Rico. Some of the best surfing
can be found in the area around Rincon. The best times of
the year for surfing tend to be April and October.
Snorkeling & Diving:
The waters around Puerto Rico are famous
their clarity and the abundance of marine life. A perfect
combination for those who enjoy snorkeling or scuba diving.
Some of the more popular destinations for these activities
are the Condado Lagoon, the Fajardo Region and Palominitos
Island. The last two locations boast crystal clear waters,
and colorful marine life.
Boating:
Since Puerto Rico is an island it should
come as no surprise the boating is a popular past time. From
virtually and coastal city or town you will have no trouble
in renting motorboats, kayaks, sailboats, etc. You can also
take a boat tour and see Puerto Rico in a different manner.
Cycling & Hiking:
If you enjoy physical activity, Puerto Rico
is an excellent destination. It is said that hiking or biking
are the two best ways to discover this island paradise. The
scenery outsides the cities and towns is simply spectacular.
Many different organization organize hiking or bike tours.
Fishing:
The fishing in the waters off Puerto Rica
are world class. Some of the more common species are dorado
marlin, tuna, wahoo, and sailfish. It is fairly easy to charter
a boat for a great fishing adventure. Certain times of the
year Puerto Rico hold some great tournaments.
