Air

When planning a trip to Puerto Rico you will need to fly into San Juan. The name of the airport is Luis Munoz Marin International Airport and it is located approximately 10 miles from Old San Juan. Expect to pay between $20-25 for a taxi.

If you plan on flying to other Caribbean islands you will find many flights from San Juan as well.

Road

You will find the public modes of transportation in Puerto Rico is good. In the larger cities such as San Juan bus and taxi is excellent. Bus service to other towns and cities is frequent and inexpensive.

In most areas of San Juan you can easily locate a taxi. Just make sure they use the taxi meter. If you want to rent a car there are a variety of major agencies on the island.

Ferries

There is ferry service from the port of Fajardo to the islands of Culebra and Vieques.
